Looking at the full moon from this heavenly site inspired its owners to name it Paradiso de las Lunas . This property was featured in Architectural Digest (Sep. 1995) and in the HGTV channel program Extreme Homes, Exotic Island's Homes --currently showing--.

Caguas, the town in which the property is located, is part of San Juan Greater Metropolitan area. Its a 20 minute drive from San Juan center to the property --outside rush hours traffic--.

The site is made up of three contiguous farms totalling 18.70 acres. Thirteen of these are wild forests and the remainder have been wonderfully turned into an exuberant Caribbean botanical garden-forest.

There are three marvelous designed structures in the property. The Main House, the Guest House, and an Artist Studio. All the structures have alluring typical four sided roof tops made of a combination of wood and galvanized steel panels secured with steel cables.

The 4,308 sq. ft. main house is anchored by 60 feet oak columnar poles. The framing of the structure is made up of twenty one 1-feet round wood columns. The floors were made from 100 yr. old plus longleaf southern yellow pine, the walls from native capa prieto, and the doors, interior side of the ceilings and frames for the oversize tempered-glass paneled windows from old ausubo (ironwood). Dazzingly balconied and be-decked, with high ceilings and lofty spaces, open to the greenery and the light and the cooling trade winds. The main house sprawls on three stories. Because the same goes downhill, you come in at the top story, which serves as the main level.

The guest house is entirely open commanding an spectacular view of valleys and mountains. The only enclosed part is a small L-shaped sitting room and a half-loft bedroom and bath.

The artist studio is a gracious and inspiring wooden structure on metal -steel- stilts.

Highlights

Main area of the property has some 300 linear feet of chain link fencing which marks its frontier with neighboring farms. Approximately another 3,200 linear feet of the property border are fenced with barbed wire on treated pine posts.
There are soome 1,500 linear feet of concrete walkways and portions encrusted with slices of wood poles and paving stones. The estate has two main accesses with corresponding electric gates and closed circuit cameras.
